I did some trading with a man in Tennessee. He had a number of lovely irises but he had lost the identification tags for them. He could only tell me that he bought them at Schreiner's or Cooley's. He also included a few historicals. Here are the ones that have bloomed for me so far. I have been able to identify a few. Others still need identification.
Unknown #4 & #7 Maybe Sheer Ecstacy
Unknown #3
Two of my unknowns were alike. I grow Sheer Ecstacy and I am quite sure it matches these . The possible matches I have found for the next Unknown #3 are Wench (Miller 1991) or Joaquin Lady. I think Joaquin Lady matches better but I am not sure if it was ever sold by either Schreiner's or Cooley's.

Unknown #1
This almost white iris is a terrific gower and reblooms as well. Several people have suggested this iris might be Pearls of Autumn (Hager 1992). Betty Wilkerson's Returning Chameleon also matches very well.
Unknown #9
Unknown #9
Unknown Tennessee Pink
The first two pictures are of the same pink iris from the bag labled "Schreiner's Unknown". The last one came from the Schreiner's Unknown Blue bag. There was also a yellow one in that bag that I immediately identified as Vavoom.
Unknown #8
Unknown #8
This iris is from the bag labled "Schreiner's Unknown". I think it is the same as my mis-labled Battlestar. So now I have two mis-labled irises that are exactly alike. It could be Boss Tweed. It also looks very much like my Homecoming Queen.
Unknown #2
Unknown #5
Unknown #6
All of these came from the bag marked Schreiner's Unknown. The yellow one was a very good bloomer. The blue one looks much like Skywalker to me and bloomed at the same time here. Unknown #6 was very distinctive and I think I will discover it's identity someday. When it opened, the standards were bluish but faded to white.

The man sent a bag he called Tennessee Flags. He sent another bag he had labled "Unknown Schreiner yellows". The top picture is one of the iris labled Tennessee Flags. Another was the same as Unknown #1 above (top of page) and there was also a very black one (bottom right). I think it may be Diabolique. All of the Schreiner's Unknown Yellows bloomed (bottom picture). It's apparent that he mixed the lables on these two bags.
Here are the only two blue iris from the blue bag. They are obviously historics so they probably didn't come from Schreiner's. One has white standards, the other has pale blue standards.
