Dwarf Purple
Unknown Siberian

This little iris was a bonus with my very first irises. Since I didn't keep up with names at that time I have no idea what the name is. I posted a picture of this iris to a list. It generated a good deal of interest and one member ask for a start of it to observe. Not knowing a lot about irises and nothing about siberian irises, I managed to dig and send my complete stock. A few years later this same member wrote that she had concluded that it was just another "blue siberian iris". She ask if I would like to have it back. So it spent a couple of years in Washington, and when it returned, it was pregnant. The seedlings I have came from the seedpods from this iris. The thing I found interesting about this iris is that it grows well in our Texas heat. Siberian iris and Japanese iris usually do not fare well here.
